QUOTE: When you said "As stated on the Arreat Summit, these cube formulae will NOT work on low quality or superior items. The item MUST be normal and unsocketed."....
I am wondering could you now use either formula:
1 Eld Rune + 1 Chipped Gem + Low Quality Weapon Normal Quality Weapon of same type
1 El Rune + 1 Chipped Gem + Low Quality Armor Normal Quality Armor of same typethen use the cube appropriate formula to random socket say a Berserker Axe or Achron Plate?
Thus avoiding using Larzuk and potentially getting the 5os for the Axe or 3os for the Plate? Also can you use the above formula a Low Quality Ethereal item (assuming LQ Eth can occur)?
Sorry about the dumb questions but I have been away from D2 for some years now and am getting back into it.
Good question actually.
The two "restoration formulae" you mention have an odd effect in that they reduce the internal level ("item level") to 1, regardless of what it was before. Thus, the restored items will both fall into the
"ilvl 1-25" tier and the maximum number of sockets will therefore be determined by that tier. According to the "Max Sockets Tables",
Berserker Axe (ilvl 1-25): max 4 sockets
Archon Plate (ilvl 1-25): max 3 sockets
These are the number of sockets you get if you bring either item to Larzuk. If you socket either item using the Horadric Cube, the "Horadric Cube Socket Odds" for "Max 4 sockets" and "Max 3 sockets"
from the guide should apply.
In regards to the AP, this topic is worth reading ^^
http://forums.d2jsp.org/index.php?showtopic=6649013&f=98I have neither seen nor heard of any such thing as a Low-Quality ethereal item.
