I thought names aren't account bound anymore? I'll definitely look out for the 60 days left, i didn't know this damn.. lost 3 mules...

In old D2 only 1 char can have his name, until it is deleted or expired. in d2r im not sure, i dont play it anymore and when i tryed to sell some names people told me that multiple char can have same name

“I’m not sure of this” lol so you don’t even know… I do. And as I’ve stated after it expires you have 9-10 days to refresh, if you don’t it’ll open the door for someone else to create it and that’s when it poofs. Cuz someone else made it and now has it

Im not sure because now seems that the char disappear in automatic even if someone dont make a new char with your name. and also until now even if you had an expired char you should be able to log in again even after 20days and get back the char if no one took your name

Ill try to make a test char lets see just for be sure

Ι'm pretty sure that they deleted some expired characters.
Logged in to my main, which had 2 perm characters and 4 perm mules, Now it has 3 mules saying that they will expire in 30 days.
Last time I refreshed them was around 2 months back,doesn't make any sense 🤣

i wrote a solid script to keep characters permed and so far i have not lost a single char since.

it refreshes all chars, logging, screenshots, customizable perming order, robust error handling - lol like bnet dropping a connection and its multi client.

I didn't know about the 10days ultimatum... but I was able to save my chars.

I forgot to check my acc and when I entered I had 3 "characters expired" in red. I joined a game with each one and problem solved. I'm pretty sure they had expired 3 days before, so what you say is that they would have been "safe" for al least another 6 days, right?

It depends on how long it’s been expired, the clock starts the day it expires, and were those pvm/pvp characters or mules? Because a character that’s been permed lasts a couple months before expiration

I mean, they were mules, but I had permed them all

so first 30 pass until you get the "expires in 60 days" message bellow each char. When it says "expires in 10 days" the message turns red and after those 10 days pass, it says "character expired" in red as well. I am sure I checked the mule three days AFTER I got the "character expired" message. So, it had passed 93 days after the last time I joined a game with that char. I thought the chars would expire idk 1 day after the red message "char expired" but now I know that you have at least another 10 days to save the lives of your chars.

If namebotters are online you loose immidiate on expire(90days)
Lost so many chars that way:
2 * barbs with full inzane gear
2 * Ghostsins with epic gear
Lvl 99 necro names vodka
Lvl 98 sorc named Pro
Lvl 92 sorc with epic gear names bv_xxx
2 inzane bow ama
1 shaper with inzane gear
And probarly more

The same thing can happen if blizzard decide to delete expired chars, and maby Even by some autofunction with deleting unnised files.

But i think i did not loose anything recent.
