I use to get this when I was younger. I use to hear things but would never open my eyes. I couldnt move a finger as much as I thought about it. It's a very scary feeling. Usually after a few deep breaths and settling my heart rate I would slowly regain control of my limbs. I havent had them for a long time. I believe I just outgrew it or stopped giving a shit. Honestly, I believe the acceptance of God and constant faith is what caused me to get over it completely. Not sure on your religious views but, while I'll admit a lot of people use faith as a scapegoat to claim false security with where they are in life, it really helped me.
Side note. I went to a car dealership to test drive a few cars...I'll be purchasing my first Mercedes on Monday or Tuesday..Still trying to talk myself out of it but I have a friend who works there and it was an offer too good to refuse.
I love you all.
The second one I had that day was crazy. It was like a bad mushroom trip. I eventually managed to push myself up off my bed (or so I thought) using both arms, took so much effort.
I started walking down the hallway and everything was like bending and then I "teleported" back to my bed (woke up I guess).
Anyway, after reading about it a little bit I felt better about it and realized it was probably just happening due to alcohol and excessive stress in my life.
I won't get into a debate with you about it but the whole religion thing is not for me.
You should build a gaming pc instead of buying a car

(assuming yours hasn't been updated lately)
