Adding to my list of stories to tell you guys!  Gather around--this is a funny one!


Was coming home from the gym last night at like 10 p.m. and my buddy (in my car because he lives directly on the route that I take) says, "Hmm, Rita's is still open...want to grab some water ice?"
I replied, "Eh, why not? I haven't had any in a while and it usually isn't expensive to get a small from water ice places."

I pulled into the parking lot and the place was actually PACKED!  I was like, "Wtf? It's not even hot out and it's 10 at night on a Thursday and there is this giant line?"
So, I'm looking for a spot.  Rob says, "There's a spot."
The way the parking area was:
Trees/bushes| Open Spot | Open Spot| Car|
I saw the trees/bushes hanging way into the left open spot, so I decided to pull into the right open spot.
So, as I'm swinging my car around...A WILD SNORLAX APPEARED!:o  This giant women was getting out of her car.
I was like, "Holy $4IT, the elephants got out of the zoo!?"  and I had to take evasive action to not hit it.

I was like, "I'm not parking in the trees/bushes, and I don't have enough space to park in the one spot with that thing there, so whatever--I'm parking here."
Rob says, "I can't believe you're really parking in two spaces."
I said, "Well...I didn't want to hit the elephant...those things are on the endangered species list, I believe."


So, then we're waiting in line, and the wild snorlax was ahead of us, and then some people between us because we had to go into our gym bags and get money out.
We were kind of getting antsy, because we've been in line for about 10 minutes because somehow it was taking long to just get ice cream or water ice.
Rob and I were just laughing the whole time joking about how huge the lady is.

Then she gets up to the front of the line and starts ordering.  We were like, "wtf...how long is she taking to say 'I want ice-cream'?" She was giving them like specific instructions on how she wants it made.
I was imitating her going, "I want FULL scoops of the ice-cream, and make sure you put in both the sprinkles and the M&Ms; I want it to look just like the commercial."
"You know what?  How about I give you $10 and let me come back there and put my head under the ice-cream dispenser? How much time could I get like that?"


We finally got up and got some our stuff in like 10 seconds each...wtf was so complicated with everyone else that it took them 2 minutes per person...?
It was pretty good, but I turned to Rob, and said, "Damn, this thing is probably the sugariest thing I've ever eaten in my life...and I've eaten a packet of sugar before."
Also, it was $2.49 for a small water ice; overpriced much?

Water ice is commonly referred to as italian ice outside of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. It is a flavored ice with a soft texture, not like a snow cone usually consumed in the summer.
