i dont think it would be like that, european players would all choose to reroll the game until it was made on the eu server. if there was no in game method of telling this an addon would be easily codeable that doesn't break the TOS i'd guess just by reading ports? better yet blizz would let you choose the realm u create games on the same way they let u choose gateway now.

the only advantage being all chars on one realm, all items on one realm, and if u cant find a private game for dueling or leveling public games are much increased.

That's what PoE did and everybody hated Aussies and Kiwis. You were kicked to the Singapore server and everybody had a 400-500 ping only losers no winners.

what does it mean?

Blizzard is merging Asia 2 and 3 into Asia 1. If you have a character named Njaguar on Asia 2, but there is already a character with that name on Asia 1, the Asia 2 character will be named Njaguar2 after the merge. If you don’t want your character to be named Njaguar2 then you have the option to rename it.

You will not be able to change your character name whenever you desire.

Not whenever, but one time. before the merge, once they announce it, you go on to the other realm and create a character name that's the same as any undesired names on your realm. the announcement came before they disabled char creation, correct?
