I didn't say I had temp ban. There is a complete difference between UTC (paragraph) and the little popup window that says you were disconnected from bnet (the 1 liner). And it was KEY related. I tried multiple times on one key and the little window kept popping up...so I switched to a different key and it worked. This all happened in under 1 minute.
To be clear, I hadn't even been able to log into the account at all.
I loaded d2, I tried logging in the account.
I got the small popup window with the one liner of "You were disconnected from battle.net.Please reconnect" (i.e. NOT the utc msg).
I kept trying and it kept popping up.
Switched key.
Login successful.
Oh yeah that's not the same thing. The new "Temp ban or Realm Down" whatever you wanna call it is now the "Server Down" message you get when trying to create games. Prior to 1.14 this was the old "Realm Down" Which wouldn't even let you connect to Bnet - you'd get that screen that said "Your connection to Battle.net has been temporarily restricted"
Now you just get "server down" every time to try to create a game which is the NEW RD/Temp Ban....I'm just curious why they still let you connect to Bnet and didn't stick with the old RD that didn't even let you connect at all....hmmm
OLD
NEWIt doesn't appear that anything you do affects the length of your ban. It appears to be completely random ranging anywhere from a few minutes to 12 hours to 24 hours to 1 week to 2 weeks. I'm guessing the length of your ban depends on how severe your offense was or how many times you've triggered their conditions for bannable offense (i.e. multiple accounts/cdkeys creating games at the same time, too many games per hour... etc result in longer bans)
If you don't want to get banned, do the following:
1. Limit yourself to 10 games per hour or less
2. Wait 2-3 minutes between creating games
3. Don't create and leave games too quickly on mules.
4. When creating games with multiple characters, make sure each of them doesn't overlap and creates their new game several minutes apart from the other characters.
5. Try to make your games as long as possible so muling/trading doesn't get you banned according to rule #1This post was edited by Celeese on Jun 28 2017 02:43pm
