I don't think most ppl play the game for PvP. Sure, a lot of the outspoken people do, but wast majority of the playerbase is not playing the game 6-10 hours a day, but 1.5 hours a day. If you don't grind the living shit out of the game - or buy a lot of stuff - you never get into pvp.
The outspoken ones in the blizz forums etc. are not casuals and do not represent the majority of the playerbase. They are outspoken grinders....some of whom grind for the holy grail or for pvp.

they may not be the majority in d2r, but they were the ones who kept d2 vanilla alive for 20 years. the demand for pvp items is what kept the game alive.
d2r did make pvp a lot worse than vanilla and if this does not change the game will die for sure.

it wasnt all pvp items. we all watched the threads fly by. sure pvp items were a big part of keepin d2 alive, but buy sell trade was just as much pve too. prices are just lower for most that stuff. ppl upgrading gear, making new builds. coming and going. d3 came out and the devs were mad there was more players on d2 then there was on d3 so they took away the "player count" from the lobby after ppl pointed it out and laughed too much in the forums.
i remember seeing 22k players online on battle net, and d2jsp would be like 150east 80ppl west browsing jsp

The power creep is slowly catching up, ruining the classic feel and economy of the game, we'll see in near future how it went with increased drop rates with TZ introduction and future updates.

D2r is good everyone is just wanting Diablo 4. Sunder charms are so much better and hammerdins can’t do terror zones that well . They can fix everything but it’s still old game and small community. Honestly they should combine classic and lod and like he said make an expansion with new act for new mercs and maybe add 2 classes . Still small community

its alive for the first 2 weeks of each ladder
then drops off again
and its only the second season

but really who can mentally do repetitive mf runs forever
i think 2 weeks is when most people realize its not worth it anymore

I didn't realize everyone felt like this. I was hoping to relive the good old days through D2R. I guess it is what it is. D2R is like the last video game I've been playing, and if it dies than I'm just gonna stop playing games all together.
