i tried to figure it out too and i came to the conclusion it just kicks players out of the game on your local side but on the server side the game is still there and so is your character. and that character will not be playable again nor will the game be accessible to anyone until it drops from server side from inactivity. which can take a while
so i doubt the games are permanently disabled but i am probably wrong
keep me updated anyway i was gunna try it out but i didn't wunna actually upgrade my 08 boots if it didn't work lol

the boots survived as well. apparently there was a patch where they would poof if you upgraded them?

One more test and then it will take someone else with a virgin pair of 08s to test the first-game-disabled theory

Also, game instantly available again. Bypassing the usual temporary perming of game. Haven't tried xferring in this scenario yet haha

you know the fire wood trick when you stand behind the fire wood and click on stash to put character into a continuous running animation to perm a mule or w/e?
what if you upgrade the boots while doing that? maybe the game would be broken permanently?

or maybe do the bug while someone else is in the running animation?

This must be what happened to the gm melee game “pn///1”. Game was existent and unjoinable at the same time for months.

Hmm, it can be made now. So maybe it's 3 months or something haha. Keep an eye on ifg1 I guess. Definitely drops w/e game you are in and tags the chars in that game. Idk why some games getting disabled unless it's just the game of the virgin upping
