A cheap way to increase cold damage while still maintaining 105fcr would be +3 blizzard ormus 5/-5 + snowclash combo instead of arachnid, specially for the vita build. I think it costs less than a 30-30 crystal sword :D

Df is Overall the best choice man

Comparison:
a perfect df offesr +3 skills 35-5,20% fcr! those +3 skills result in -15% in mastery so in total -20 and increases blizzard's base damage with df.
your cs offers 30-30 so you just win -10% cold resistance.

A typical pvp setup has got at least 105fcr. 20fcr from df, 20 from arachnid, 35 from spirit and 20 from magefist = 95fcr. For maximum damage, you ideally have got a +3 to blizzard +10fcr +other mods amulet so it adds up to 105fcr. This way you can wear 2x sojs (es) or 2x bks (vita version). 2x soj means additonal -10 cold res. With your sword, 20fcr are missing so you have to compensate somewhere else by sacrificing a soj or two in ring slots. Not worth it..

Overall, people don't have the equip to really counter - cold resistances , right now. So it's worth to get the priece wherever possible (not from a 30-30 crystal sword). When people have enough equip in their 5 stashes in 6 months or so, only pure damage counts. They're hit with damage first before they can absorb so going the pure damage route long term is better.

pretty much what he said

lets say someone has 450 cold res

normal gear 255 cold % 450-255=195 cold res
cold stacked gear 285% 450-285=165 cold res

in a hell pvp how much of a difference would that be?

blizz hits 13-16k

As long as you don't bring their cold resistance below 175 they're going to have @75 in hell so you deal 25% dmg. In PVP, any dmg to player is reduced by 6 so you're looking at:
13*0.25/6 = 0.541 or 541dmg per hit
16*0.25/6= 0.666 or 666dmg per hit

If they are wearing snowclash or guardian angel replace 0.25 with 0.1. Point is their char is going to be so gimped that someone else in the pub is going to kill them or you do with lots patience and teleports.

Death fathom will do more damage, offers 20 FCR which opens up other ways to increase your damage, and offers fire and lightning resist.

It’s no contest. Death fathom is better than everything. And a 6os sword is like the 7th best option.
