I remember it just like it was yesterday. It was 2nd year of college, and I was 18 years old. My roommate and I had just finished playing Diablo 1 (that game was a blast too.... playing online, duping gold and all the spells to max, fighting against anyone and everyone including people with invincible hacks... "I sense a soul"... ). We had then discovered that there was a D2, and we bought it immediately.

I started with a sorceress and he with a barb. We were total newbs (I thought spectral shard was the best item in the game). Been playing on and off ever since.

I was really hoping for a D2 remaster, but I guess I'll enjoy one more ladder season before I call it quits.

i started diablo 1 in 1996 so i was 7
my brother bought diablo 2 in 2000 and that means i was 11 years old


because i lived in the middle of fucking no where shit desert there is nothing to do... not kidding like fuck all nothing to do
so i started playing online when it came out and it was super super cool

then i learned about d2jsp bot javascript phaser and d2hackit moduals and it was omg cool but i was so young i did not understand how it worked
then as game patches more and more was released mmbot came out and i got into autoit like obsessed with it i even edited and made my own data folder and custom scripts

then when d 2 b s was released i started to learn about c++ and it was magical you can do anything with this tool set.

Then i went to college and had a better understanding of computers / scripting / programming and took that and applied it back to d2 and made huge advances in terms of time to profit / 99's / dueling / perfect 08 gear collections

the longest stretch i did not play d2 was when i was in basic training or if i got deployed somewhere. I carried a laptop and access to wifi was not hard. To keep accounts perm i wrote a permer/refresher (patch proof) that ran while i was in basic and did not lose a single char. This means in 18 years my accounts have had zero downtime as i can just remote access my home server, and load it up or edit configs.

I understand what keeps me coming back to bnet is not just my 18 years of experience playing it and my ability to smash players but i am always advancing and perfecting my skills. In one place i was able to gather all my skills and target them at one goal the game (critical thinking, programming, debugging, social engineering, trading, collecting, predicting changes, and perfecting of skills.)

My brother and I bought Diablo 1 in 1998, I was 13-14 years old and Diablo 2 and Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction sometime in late summer 2001, if I recall correctly. So I was 17 years old back then.

I was born in 3sox 15ed Ap and bered shako on the head.

Had Diablo 1 on the first PlayStation thanks to my mom's boyfriend at the time. Once d2 dropped for play station he went out and bought it and a new voodoo gfx card lol. I played single player for about two years or so before I even thought about trying multiplayer. I few friends from in my town had it and we all started playing open b.net (had no idea what closed was, just that I couldn't use my single player char lol) we soon after learned of all the item creators and boss mode mods and had alot of fun making good chars. The hacked item pvp scene was actually pretty big on there so that was funny.

I was in middle school at the time and overheard some kids talking about d2 and they mentioned ladder and I chimed in not knowing at all what they were talking about. I later went home that day and started a char to join them. I played through mass dupped soj's, through mass dupped 3/20/20's, both of which being the common currency at the time. I owned 915 ith swords on a Barb and had a bowa when kb+Peirce+ga= top pvp char. I remember life and Mana leech before the pvp Nerf and that dr% used to be capped at 75%. I played for years and then took a huge break. Got really into riding bmx and it wasn't untill 06 or 07 that I started back up if I remember correctly. Just that one game that no matter how long of a break I take I end up back here. Even after all my accts that have been expired....

I was 16, my cousin gave me a copy because him and his friends wanted to play DAOC and they all quit the game and gave me a bunch of gear.

Now he asks me about d2 every year at xmas, last year I gave him a copy so he could play. Nothing like reconnecting a family with demons and evil, really goes over well at xmas dinner.

I started playing Diablo 1 around launch, I was 11 at the time. I started playing Diablo 2 as soon as it was available in stores... so awhile and shame on you for having such a biased poll! What about the people that were born before 0?

Guess I was about 15 or so when I found D2. Pretty sure I paid for it

i played d2 for my first time in 2001 but i didn't really get into it until 2007! i basically play for 5 years straight and got bored of it in 2012!

it was a fun run though and i don't have any regrets!
