You really don't know anything then, and don't try to worm out of it you said you would hire an entire team purely to search for dupe exploits 24/7 for d2
what they are doing here is creating a small team to revitalise their entire legacy platform, a clever and astute business idea in comparison to your nonsensical and egocentric idea
will it happen? it's Blizzard, we will have to wait and see with baited breath as usual, but it won't be happening soon.
Also I imagine people will be expecting content updates, new characters, acts and items etc, when largely it's going to be bug fixing and updating it to run better on newer systems.
One thing we can dream of is to finally sort the realm down issue, that wouldn't be hard.
simply untrue. Ill give you 100% that i was suggesting a diablo 2 specific team, rather than legacy games. BUT i had in mind a team that would improve the game in all aspects, fixing all bugs, adapting the resolution, etc. Hybrids and packet manipulation were simply the topic at hand, not the only focus of my plan.
BUT like i said above, which of the 3 games (assuming they will only do 3 games, sc1, wc3, and d2) do you think needs actual work to debug and which do you think require busy work like setting up servers and adapting the game to the launcher program? Because sc1 and wc3 should be super easy to set up, diablo 2 is easy to set up as well but has far more bugs. Bugs take time, as you well know, setting up servers isnt actually that hard. So in reality even though this isnt a d2 specific team i would guess that most of their time in the long run will be put towards debugging, as setting up b.net's for the games isnt hard.
