I must confess that I also don't like the Events system. I would also prefer a subforum instead.

As for the other change that allows non-trusted peeps to offer services, I don't see a real connection other than the timing of when the change was made. I mean, if they decided to scrap the Events system in favor of a subforum that doesn't mean they would also go back to only allowing trusted tag members to offer services. It's not like the Events system does anything to help prevent scams or whatever.
