increase block to have more points to distribute according to your liking (str for dmg, dex for ar, vita for life). if you aim for 75% block (which you should for melee pala) the amount of necessary dex might be higher than necessary str. i like to get necessary points from gear and be free to distribute other points feely, but if you want to spec str than you can go 40/9str as well
you are right with ml>maek, but maybe maek is good enough as well and might be cheaper
also ar is not to be underestimated, zealot needs a pretty high chance to hit for being effective
