considering this problem exists since day 1 and isnt fixed yet, i dont have much hope... but we'll see

if i remember correctly this all started when blizzard decided to try ban or block people who use jsp so when they state their name for a trade (eg. Nirjan@d2jsp here) that line would be invisible
this somehow turned into the chat bug and when they copy/pasted all D2's code to D2r they copied the bug too and dont even know where code error is to fix it

I don't mention @jsp anymore. Only state Boniface here so it does not absolutely mean it's a jsp trade. Regardless, the bug still happens.

yeah its not just because of the jsp trades i think its part of their anti spam bot thing remember bots would join public games and spam about 3rd party item shop sales ect
in pvp games you were slamming N constantly to clear screen of spam lol you could squelch em but another one would join on fresh acc
tbh no chat or sometimes working chat was actually better but still annoying and sloppy af on blizzard behalf
