After all this time playing Diablo 2 I just found out that you can have 18 characters per account. Here I was thinking max allowed characters per account was 8 and kept making new accounts for characters.

Change was implemented about 2-3 years ago i think. One more change is that all games made online is automatically permed.. which makes it much easier to do quest bugged boss runs.

I like to experiment with builds.

Light for instance light sorc dmg build vs mf build

Or like bow zon classic build using only uniques and not rune words. Or just having some d2 classic fun no expansion char.
