6 skull method is primarily just to get an item to a certain iLVL



The only effective item to reroll is Baal GCs due to its the only way to get 41-45 life GCs and the limited number of affix combos available on charms.

Rolling rares is completely inefficient and extremely expensive.

well, ilvl 99 baal item x .4 = 39 + if im lvl 99, also 39 = ilvl 78 total

there are others potentially worth doing, for example 3x chipped/normal/flawless gems with a magic runic talon can produce +2 sin or +3trap runic talons of quickness with two sockets (each of those recipes rolls 1-2 sockets) with relatively decent odds: 1/31224 and 1/62449 chance, respectively. that's without the staffmods, but interestingly it allows for the possibility of 3 burst of speed and dragon claw too (it's too bad fireblast is not possible without losing everything else)

those recipes set the ilvl to 25 or 30 (flawless only) so it's too bad you can't do this with sorceress orbs unless you accept not having mastery ever spawn (req ilvl 37)

Not to mention you want greater talons, not runic talons. And iirc, The chance is much lower on GTs than RTs due to RTs increased chance to roll staff mods. I could be remembering incorrectly. But again, this is regarding the staff mod portion of the equation.

Additionally, it would cost more fg to buy 3x 31,000 chiPiped gems, than a random 2sin/40ias/2socket no staff mod claw is worth.

Additionally, in the time it takes you to roll the claw the chipped gems 31,000 times, you can have spent that time MFing to find other items, and those items would have more value than just buying a random 2sin/40ias/2soclet no staff mod claw.



Yes it’s possible to get an item from rerolling. But it’s not effective from a cost to value perspective or a time to value perspective.

The only ones worth rolling are GCs.

Not to mention claw shopping isn’t effective anymore on legacy, and would be much worse on resurrected due to longer loading times

well it's just something to roll as you collect the gems playing. though i suppose you could actually try to buy 31k chipped gems lol. you're going to be seeing lots of them playing anyway, so why not roll them? that was just an example though, another one you could try for is the exact same recipe with a caduceus instead for priest's caduceus of the apprentice (+2 pal / 10 fcr). the blessed hammer & concentration aura staffmods are available for that item.

on d2r, i've been burning most of my non-ruby or amethyst pgems on a sacred targe, which has a 1/15307 chance of spawning as jeweler's of deflecting with ilvl 77 (that's not counting the potential auto mod). comparatively, baal gcs have a 1/121000 to be a specific skiller with 41+ life (if that's the only type of prefix you want). only some of those skill tabs are actually sought after, but either way combined those are also comparatively decent odds that you'll get one someone likes.

in my opinion, it's still not the only item worth rerolling (particularly if you want to use the item you are rolling). i'd also consider magic diadems - lots of potential salable results (volcanic of the magus, artisan's of speed, etc) that have comparative odds (100k or less)

It’s the time investment. Spending that time killing more monsters is significantly more effective than spending that time rolling stupid shit
