What are some key things to look for on rares that are actually good?

From what I've gathered the boot ISO's are the same, rings are mostly the same, belts and gloves pretty much same as expac.

Armor= FHR/life/tri-res?

Shields=fhr/deflecting/resistances/life?

Wands=20%FCR/tri-res, or does it need more for sorcs and stuff?

Weapons=Any exceptional weapon with high %ED/AR worth keeping or?

i don't get it why play class mod ?
