If life and mana steal isn't high enough, then it never is a bad idea to skull socket. AR in pvm doesn't really seem to make a big difference. I have an Ancient axe mfer, and I don't think he uses and +ar except on his weapon and has low are like you, but I never have a problem with killing anything.

The only down side to skull socketing is that it ruins martel resale, but that doesn't look like it'd pull in big bucks, either way.
