Besides using the merc lol

D2: Some monsters' cold immune can be lowered wth lower resist wand (on switch), albeit they will still have a very high resist, unless you use facets and/or other lower cold resist gear. And/or in conjunction with conviction from the runeword infinity, which some monsters must be used on to lower it from.

If this is not available to you, using a second element is the most common thing to do.

D2R: There have been introduced sunder charms, which lowers all monsters' cold immunes to 95%. I think this happens before any other aura, curse and modifier, but i am not 100% sure.

I don't think sunder charms are available in d2 legacy

Besides using merc, you could run a meteorb sorc build.
Outside of infinity and lower res wand, that generally doesnt break cold immunes in this game i think.

You don't. That's what the biggest gripe was in d2legacy. Only 1-2 viable pvm chars. Made it incredibly boring when 99% of the servers were infinity light sorcs and hdins.

dont attempt to kill all monsters with every immunity type. some will be totally immune to your build: physical + light / physical + cold

save and exit and reset the game / monsters and try the run again - this is normal

You cant walk around casting a blizzard ontop of everything in the game but there's a few options.
- A few points into meteorb is best.
- Next best is to use a hybrid build with cold and fireball as your main attack. You need to be high level to split the points though. Level 95+ to get some decent fireball dmg.
- There's other builds like this like orb/hyrda but imo it's not as good as blizz/meteorb.
- You can put more points into static so you can cast it from further away and don't have to be ontop of the packs.
- Telekinesis can stun and lock the enemies for the merc to kill easier but that's mainly for es builds.
- You can use a point in enchant or an enchant staff to boost your merc up a little.
- Remember if you level up your merc gets stronger. So level up.
