Ilvl doesn't get set to 1 unless you cube it to restore it to a regular item.

Depends on the ilvl where you found the crystal sword but if above that level where 4 socket crystal swords are possible, then yes, it will get 4.

Eld + chipped gem + cracked/etc weapon in your cube will "up" it to normal quality, and set the ilvl to 1.

If you do that though, the sword won't get 4 sockets.
