Hey! I'm looking to exchange some FG for guild wars gold. Also would people recommend that I trade for gear right now or just get gold?

Honestly, you don't need to buy gold. I recommend just playing the game. By the time you hit 80, you'll have easily earned enough gold to buy a full exotic set of armor and trinkets and weapons. Over time you can work on an ascended set, but there really isn't a need to rush it. You can even get a full set of exotic armor from reward tracks in PVP and WVW if that is what you find most fun
