Why wouldn't you. It's a waste to not get an SSD. Especially if you mention quality.

It's a waste?

currently for what they offer they're incredibly overpriced...

For what you're getting and how much you're paying... yes, a definite waste not to get it.
If you're so attached to your extreme size HDD's just get a portable one aside with a smaller SSD for your PC.

It doesn't make noise.
It does not vibrate.
It does not need defragmentation.
It will boost your overall system speed considerably.

I'd just like to add one thing to this conversation.

There has been a lot of talk about 16GB RAM being needed for triple monitor setups and the proof of this is the low FPS high end systems get in post-HD resolutions...?

I would like to correct you on that, You have your information muddled up. The bigger the resolution the more taxing the game is on your system (BUT NOT HUGE DIFFERENCES) what it is that gives these high end systems low FPS on these resolutions is the lack of VRAM not RAM. More VRAM = Higher display support, you could have a shitty 8400gs with 10gb VRAM (let's say GDDR5 VRAM for arguments sake) and it would run 4k resolutions with ease.......... (of course after it's been optimised for it) The point i'm trying to get across is you have RAM and VRAM mixed up... BF3 on triple monitor setups 8xaa 16xaf ULTRA settings on my SLI GTX 560ti's hardly uses over 2-3GB of RAM (not VRAM) while it makes use of nearly all my VRAM. RAM is important but not when it comes to resolutions.
