Never said anything about a data being valuable or not in any form.
Knowing the probability of acquiring something as a drop/forge/craft/or whatever surely helps one decide if they wish to try their luck with something or not. However, as aforementioned, it does not guarantee anything for anyone.
Also, when it comes to RNG, you can never have a definitive answer to the probability (only a relative approximation based on your own or multiple people's experience), unless the programmers/devs themselves tell you the numbers that are in play. The reason for this is simple. One person doing one of the tests will not get the exact same results as another person if their luck varies.
