But, seeing as you're talking about the looks of zones and such, what I would suggest is at least trying to go through some of them in GW2. The nostalgia you'll getting into some of the zones and realizing it used to be X or Y place in GW1 is one of the best feeling I've got from the game yet. I don't know if you get what I'm saying since it's pretty hard to explain, but overall, yes some of the zones may be dull, but some corners here and there are just mind-blowing especially when GW1's nostalgia kicks in.
Pre-searing was by far my favourite experience with the original game, it was just utterly breathtaking. Just thinking about it makes me want to go make a Legendary Defender of Ascalon..
