It was a PC game that I played in the early 2000s but by the time I started playing it it was only single player, the servers no longer existed.
It was very Diablo like, you could pick your race and that affected your stats and how people treated you. Also you could fast travel but you could be attacked during your fast travel and it would start a fight where your character was currently at on the map.
Sadly that's all I remember...

Anyone know what game this might be?

Oh also you can attack the NPCs/shopkeepers. Once they die though they'll never come back and you won't be able to do any quests they offered.
I remember some of the races were like human, halfling, dwarf, ogre, elf etc
