If anything, this quest is always worth doing for the 100k experience, that's like triple the amount of a regular quest
I decided to test my plan for safe electrum farm. I took all 8 curses and went to the Athens Outskirts
Aaaand, i've quickly regretted that decision. I am in no danger here, i destroy everything with ease, and i'm getting the full 8 electrum per kill... but that doesn't change the fact that the electrum gain is still slow and boring. I did the math - I need 120 000 electrum for the orb that i want to buy, so that means killing 15 000 monsters... when you consider that up to this point i have 26 hours on this character with a kill count of 17 000.
Then i decided to watch some youtube videos of people opening electrum orbs, and guess what? They're complete and utter garbage! The legendary one that cost 390 000 electrum drop 1 legendary item, which may or may not be completely useless for your character! And some poor guy blew like 200 000+ on two normal orbs and only got magic (yellow tier) trash!
Sure, the orbs can potentially drop some of the most powerful items in the game, they can even drop Legendary items that are exclusive to these orbs. But gathering enough electrum to open all of them more than once to get these unique items, requires you to kill more than millions of monsters, we're talking about hundreds of hours of painful grinding with insane curses that ruin your character completely. What the fuck were they thinking? I that this was supposed to be fun. Well, it's not for me, so I'm not doing it, i'm done with this electrum nonsense, it doesn't exist from now on.
Now I'm just going to play the game like i always have - doing the quests and farming the best bosses and best Monster Infrequent items that can help me on my current build.
