And then if you want to continue the pissing contest please tell me how many of the forgotten realms book series you've read (or listened to)? Because a real fan would have at least read a few of them

(I've read every book all the way through the early 2000's, and am still working on reading the rest. Currently listening to The magehound)

You want to continue this?

A real fan doesn't care about what company did what. A real fan ingests all things cannon to the series regardless

You probably don't even know how massive of a series the forgotten realms are to be perfectly honest

I apologized and I think we should leave it there. I played BG 1 + 2 and both Icewind Dale Games, also Planescape Torment. I dont know if I played more than you tho, probably not. But overall easily 1000+ hours.
I read all the books about Drizzt. Nothing else tho.

P.S.: Dark Alliance wasnt a "more modern Version of the game", it was a totally different genre. Its okay if you liked it more, but its not Baldurs Gate, its just an ARPG named after an internationally succesful franchise. Again, nothing wrong with liking it, but its not better or more modern. Its just something else.

Broodware was massive, I agree. I personally preferred Warcraft and Age of Empires but also loved StarCraft and Command & Conquer. The 90s and early 2000s were insane for RTS games, but SC2 also managed to hit hard in 2010. I'd love to see abother great RTS Game (didnt really like AoE 4 tbh).

I don't play semantics. I also don't fucking care if YOU don't consider it apart of the forgotten realms, you happen to be wrong.
Fyi its called BALDUR'S GATE: DARK ALLIANCE. Also I doubt you read all 35 or so books in the companions series

And since you seem to be totally oblivious to the whole thing. The PC game baldurs gate was NOT the start of the forgotten realms. It came in 1998, many years after many books and D&D campaigns had been written. It is a game based off of tabletop D&D set in a city that existed for a long time before the game game out (1st book was written on 1987) The PC game is just one tiny little slice of the pie and doesn't constitute anything more than just that. So to say DA isn't apart of that is just purely ignorant.

Where the hell did I say Baldurs Gate started the Forgotten Realms? Get a Grip, dude. I told you, I read the R.A. Salvatore books which started years before Baldur's Gate released. Why wouldnt I know that? I never said, I dont consider Dark Alliance as part of the stupid Forgotten Realms, I said, it has nothing to do with the game Baldur's Gate despite its name.
I am talking about the legendary PC RPG Franchise from Bioware here and nothing else.
I know the background. The game from 1998 is still the original game and nothing that happened before changes that.
I am not interested in table top games at all by the way. I couldnt care less.

Why do you care so much? Secondly, they may not be connected in the sense you're talking about but they are both apart of the same universe and same base lore. I posted initially thinking I found some other dude who likes the whole series as much as me and we cpuld talk and discuss about it and YOU turned it into a pissing match out of nowhere. Well nice to meet you, I'm Nede and I really enjoy fucking with people who are dicks to me for no reason. Ask around about me I'm annoying as hell and I don't let shit die when I feel slighted

Why I care so much? I could ask you the same, man.

I know its the same universe. Its pretty easy to let 2 Games happen in the same universe...they are still totally different.
I turned nothing into a pissing match, that part is ultimately on you man.
I had a stupid comment going and should have accepted your original answer , that much I can give you and that is why I apologized in my second response - but you didnt let go.
For me, BG Dark Alliance is just an Action RPG and could have been called anything else as well. The name didnt have any impact on the game. Thats my opinion.

They may not be direct sequels but they are connected in every other sense.

The drizzt series as you so call it is 35ish books long most written by Salvatore by the way. If you haven't read them all then I suggest it because the later stuff is amazing (the latest of them came out last year) and the series isn't done
