You do realize that at the time the "original concept" was the only concept, right? So yeah the work on Diablo 3 had begun in 2001. Did you not read the quote from my previous post? Here, have another try at it, and this time, also try to think:

The only reason we use the term "original D3 concept" today is because that concept wasn't realized/completed, but at the time (2003) when Brevik left, it was the only Diablo 3 in the works, and it was in development since 2001! So everything i said is factually correct, you just failed to wrap your head around it.
By your nonsensical logic, the work on the current Diablo 3 didn't begin in 2006, but much later, because the demo that was showcased in 2008 was different from the final game. No dude, a game's development begins when it begins, it doesn't matter how many concepts or phases it goes through. The work on Diablo 3 officially started in 2001 and that's an undeniable fact.
This discussion is going nowhere at this point. I asked a simple question in my very first post - What do the players see in Hellgate London? Why is it liked, when it's clear that the game is deeply flawed? You couldn't answer, got butthurt and went off-topic.
