Hiya,

I've decided that softcore has gotten boring, just like it in D2. So I'm going to start playing Vet HC.
I'll be levelling two characters, an engineer and a berserker.
The engineer will be a summon build (never had one) and not sure on the zerk.

Any advice on builds? ^_^

I would suggest you try your own things first tho but at least you will find some good ideas / things to work on =)

Is a summongineer boring to play?

I loved my summon necro but that was because I could involved with curses and corpse explosion.

With D2 summon necro in mind...yes,summongineer might be boring a bit to you as theres no skills similars to corpse explo or something similar. Summongineer are very different than summoning necro. To me its not boring at all but its funnier when you are with peoples in game, unlike the mage, wich i can play alot alone and still have my fun. Starting summongineer can be a bit boring because your first offensive summon will be the spider mines and its not availlable at start. Try it softcore in normal mode (quick lvling, easier to figure out how to play) before HC.

Summon engineer is fun, but you need to hit level 21 before it starts to shine, download the engineer summon mod for lots of fun.

Hardcore is always fun (i am playing hc diablo2 again at the moment) but in tl2 you must make sure you have dr / block and dodge, if you go untwinked then farm Grell for his skulls, you can use these right away and when you get better items then just destroy the item they are in and reclaim em.

as a hardcore engi i would def take advantage of that shield.. and hc zerker basically requires max dr and tons of life if you wanna stay alive and dual wield. that being said probably wouldn't choose a dw zerker for hc.

I think shields are too good to pass up as an engineer. max block @ 75% combined with his already great defensive skills really does make him extremely hard to kill.
