why is it that when i get hit my hp bar has this retarded gray thing that slowly drains and if i use a potion it has to wait for the gray to leave before my potion effect works? this gets me killed all the time

The grey area is indicating the damage you have taken. After you stop taking damage, the potion will start working.

Also note that health potions heal over time, not an instant amount of health gain.

im aware of this but when i get hit and it takes 3-5 seconds for my life to actually hit the red im pretty much dead
its a really stupid mechanic it makes no fucking sense. i dont have a DOT on me so why am i taking slow dmg

im a 52 embermage and im only in vet but i get 3 shotted and i dont understand why i have 150 vit and 200+ to all other resists 350 phsy and 400 lite
yet i still get 3 shotted by a lot of monsters
this is fucking pissing me off i even have immolation aura with 5% DR but that seems like nothing but a waste of mana

The gray thing is already lost health... it's just there to show you how much damage you taken in the last few seconds. If you drink a potion it will heal you from the red up to the top

the potion does not start working as long as they gray is there
