I will, pretty soon, start a new game as Engineer on Hardcore Elite mode without trading, spawning or cheating.

For the skill build, I pretty much think I've got one nailed down, here were my toughts:

-Supercharge: Will pump all skills points I get in this skill until maxed
-Forcefield: Same as Supercharge
-Healing bot: Same as Supercharge
-Sword and Board: Same as Supercharge
-Aegis of fate: Some pts
-Shield Bash: 1 then maybe more later
-Spider mines: 1 then maybe more later
-Onslaught: 1 then maybe more later

For the stats, I was thinking of 2 vit 1 dex 2 str, I'd like opinions on that.

I would like experiences from people with their respective builds from elite hardcore engineer.

I will post here s/s of my adventure ,toughts, problems and good loot I get.

Currently level 10,

I've leveled healing bot to 5, and is pretty useful so far

I mainly shield bash my way to large crowd and auto-attack (with hopefully supercharge trigger) the rest down to death

I'm using a claw as a weapon since its very fast to maximise supercharge trigger

Do you see anything when Aegis of fate triggers? I put 1 pt and I don't seem to notice anything, maybe i'm blind or something!

gl, doing this with a focus oriented build atm downed grell, gettin to regent is gonna be intense though :/

the aegis doesnt trigger when you have the forcefield on. when forcefield is off and you get hit, thats when the aegis could trigger. so no youre not blind, forcefield is just doing its job lol

Haven't yet put pts in forcefield because the amount of dammage it absorbs is ridiculous, it goes down in 1 hit (with all charges on). But does an icon pop-up when aegis is on? Like supercharge?

/e Got it, the icon was just the same one as "Reduce armour" so I got confused!

yea im guessin forcefield isnt OP until higher levels ~~ the casting time reduced alone is worth the pts tho^^

Yes, I've got 4 pts in it now and I start to see a difference, just it's still lame it goes down in 1 or 2 mob hits.

Anyway, for updates! I killed Grell without any problems, I upgraded my claw to a 113dps -4armor/hit claw and 22armor shield. I just spammed Shield bash with hp/mana pots when needed pretty much the whole fight.
Never been in any danger what so ever and if it wasnt of the mininons spawning I could've tanked Grell without moving for the whole fight!



Drop was bad (outlander chest) and chest was even worse.

I'd show some of my good items, but I have non for the moment, waiting until god gives me a bit of love

You will notice a light blue dome around your engineer's backpack and a buff will pop up, you can scroll over it and it will tell you how much of the shield is still available.

I find aegis to be super useful, i have it at like a 12% chance to go off right now, when figured in with shield block chance, dodge, i dont get hit much, and then when i do, bulwark, and healing bot allow me to take hits really well.

I find supercharge/aegis/sword&board all to be super useless. Sword&Board increases too little damage...if it gave block as well this would be an awesome pickup. Aegis as stated before wont proc with FF up and midway through the game I find the absorption to be horrible. Supercharge is a chance charge fill up, I find it better to have dynamo and Charge Dom (if you are playing solo)

I pretty much pooled my stats until I needed for gear or if I felt like I needed some more stats. Currently I have 100 points pooled trying to decide how I want to play to lvl100. But for the most part I did str/vit with no dex/focus due to wanting to be tanky as all hell.

I've played through elite (non hc atm) with very minimal deaths just using dynamo/5 charge FF and letting summonable zombies/archers kill everything. I went full defensive due to wanting to swap up to hc soon and I must say, at 56 now I barely drop.

Worst thing to worry about are the damn werewolves in a3...lol

ive heard from some that aegis sucks, and from others its useful :/ Im prob gonna use it just cuz I have the skill points left over to max it out end game, and it cant hurt, for HC

@ OP, hows the progress? make it to regent yet? Im currently just starting regent cave (level 19 and getting my ass handed to me by the casters in the frosted hills) only skipped the frost hoof boss where you have to collect the 3 notes because of the mass casters in that cave :/
too many close calls^^; regent should be fun.

e- if youre tankign with ease, whats your lvl/vit at?^^
