It seems like any 3:2, focus:vita based build on any champion regardless of what it is (relying on +% from weapon dps)... always does more damage than straight damage/crit/attack speed or 100% vita tank builds.

The modifiers and the amount of damage you output is pretty insane.
On top of which, if you just used all tanky items in combination with your massive DPS from focus you can clear out a lot of the content with ease.

I just made a Staff Engineer with 3:2 focus, and I am pretty much soloing Elite with ease (as long as I do not get hit).

If you want to make a really strong OP MFer or something, go the 3:2 focus route.
You'll thank me.

Ask me anything about it though.

Yeah, I'm doing the same with my Embermage and all is going well. Every few levels I do the full 5 into Focus, but for the most part I've been doing 3:2 Focus:Vitality and I am doing relatively well.

Though, I wonder if a 2:2:1 ratio could work as well for Dexterity:Focus:Vitality? I would think this could give a pretty decent damage output, since you are getting some Critical Chance. Then Dodge % is a plus.

I've seen some people do the 2:2:1 ratio, but I donno about it... it does add some crit chance, and I guess it'd be okay if you were an embermage.
The dodge stat is quite nice, but you cannot dodge smash attacks, and those are what relatively kill you, aside from the massive AoE pooping from purple mobs... and those traps.... those are so ridiculous...

It all depends at what difficulty setting you are.

I find that with vita/hp items, you can withstand a hit from elite mobs. Without it, it's a guaranteed one shot charge.

Hi
I'm looking to buy this game and play an engineer :D
So 3 points into Focus and 2 points into vit?
What skills would be good? I haven't touched the game or know anything at all... so any info would be nice :)

Thanks!!
