in a1 the blacksmith is constantly hammering on his sword and then putting it in the water and every time he puts it in the water it steams.
but he never puts it in the fire
so why does it steam?
and what does he hope to accomplish hammering a wet cold sword?

That is quite odd.

Well, actually, since he is essentially morphing the metal via pressure, it would get hot. Would take these things for it to happen though:

1. A very muscular enduring arm
2. Good lung cardio
3. A lot of time....a WHOLE lot of time.

It's bugged.

His pants are on fire so he uses that to heat up the sword but you never see pants on fire - it's bugged.

He doesn't seem to even have a forge. Just a pile of burning logs that aren't even in a safe, contained area.

Report him to the EPA or Smokey

He's probably just a wizard, using his magic to heat the weapon.
