Buying stuff from people is still being your legit in the sense that your not cheating.. Cheating in this game to me is spawning anything moding items to make yourself more powerful wealthy etc..

Legit is working for your gear/weps and earning your currency. Trading in no sense cheating.

I can agree to that, but would someone who buys forum gold, then buys an item off of you be considered a cheater? I think so. So my point is, why cheat by spending money when you can cheat for free?

I don't think it's cheating when you buy stuff with irl money because your spending money to get better gear not technically cheating imo..
I do see where your coming from though..
Basically in the sense of people that actually work for there stuff without using irl money it's cheating, is what it seems your getting at?

No, I am not saying that people who are in the game playing or "working" for their items are cheating. Everything else, in my opinion is. This includes buying items with money. This is my entire point. Anyone can easily get any item they want through the console, and using my methods I posted, they can do it without being flagged as a cheater. Gold is the easiest to cheat into the game. Mods will make all of this even easier.
It makes me wonder how you guys can put any kind of monetary value on anything in Torchlight.

The game is modeled more like Neverwinter Nights, in the aspect that the community is driven by user created content, being that there is no secure server.

Yeah, that is true sadly there not going to put out a server without a console etc.

Thank you all for humoring me with my curiosities. I guess what it boils down to is some of you guys don't think buying items with real money is cheating. I can see why the forum gold system on this site can be fun and useful, and you guys use that gold in a game where you don't even have to.

I will never understand it, but I tried.
