id like to say vanilla but some people make great mods that really improve the game

vanilla, hopefully private server support comes into play. then mods.

Vanilla.

Just started using Steam and got Bastion, Torchlight, and pre-ordered TL2. Have no experience with the game or any of the modding that goes on. I'll be playing completely mod/hack free.

Just like I did with the elder scrolls games. Vanilla for a few plays then mod it in ways I would like

ill defiantly be playing vanilla, isn't there mods were people can just edit there characters or items? and they will be way op??

Or will all mods be released by runic??

People can mod anything and everything about the game they like. Runic will be releasing patches and adding quests/items, but they're leaving the modding to those who want to. And modding is always a good thing. Also if you're worried about modded kids joining your games it will flag them as modded and you can vote to kick them.

as far as i know players should have same mods to play together, so no random kid with god mode shouldnt be able to join your game, unless if you have the same mod too

I don't think that's true. Do you have a link? All they said was that if someone with a modded char joined your game you would know have an alert to say they were modded. And you could then vote to kick them if you wanted.
