predictably, they act like absolute knobheads again. disgraceful display, so glad they are out of the competition.

The only thing I enjoyed about the match was learning that City have definitely taken a few things out of Atletico's "anti-football" book

They were fantastic at it today

Yes

But I'd still take them over the oilfunded plastic club.

Hope we get a 2018 rematch in the final.

its a shame actually, because they played really well and would have deserved overtime

did you only watch the second half? genuine question. for 135 minutes, atlético played their typical, negative anti-football. in the second half today they finally showed how much quality and talent there is in the team. sure, they could have scored there, and city couldn't really have complained, but over two legs city clearly deserved to proceed imo.

it's a shame that one team had to proceed indeed.

that said, while city's blatant violations of financial fair play and transfer / wage exploits might be even more objectionable if you look at the big picture, they are clearly board room issues. meanwhile, atlético's extreme gamesmanship and unsportsmanlike conduct, which they display on a regular basis, are football pitch issues, for which you can directly blame manager and players.

yes, i tuned in late in the first half

i dont understand why simeone is crippling his own guys like that, they clearly showed that they can push forward even against city

overall its definitely deserved for city, because the first game was an absolute joke, but they pushed their luck today

Simeone has the same mentality as when Atlético had a bunch of clubfooted nomarks in their starting lineup. While he definitely deserves immense credit for what he has achieved with the club since his arrival, he has been holding the team back for a few seasons now. Last year's Liga title was a really just a fluke where they managed to take advantage of Madrid and Barça's struggles. He should leave but he doesn't want to and the club won't force him out unless something absolutely catastrophic happens.

He's the best paid manager in the world to simply instruct his players to park the bus and injure opponents, it's ridiculous. Like I said yesterday, Atlético should take lessons from Villarreal. Despite having a much worse squad, they produce far better football.
