as far as i understand there is corroboration about most of the salacious details by ronaldo himself - the issue seems to be whether she fully consented or not.
the second part of your post makes a lot of sense ofc, but he wouldn't be the first person caught in a situation you would never expected them to be in.
really hard to judge with the limited information we have, but certainly a serious accusation.
