for the belgium game i tought deschamps would actually start fekir for once and replace giroud for either mbappe or griezmann because both can play ST and RW


the reasoning


belgium plays 3 in the back and all 3 are not that fast


we saw on many occasions why giroud fits 1 style and not the other


hes good at controlling,passing,headers,good shot when given time

cons of playing giroud cant run behind defenders, average/below average 1st touch finish takes time to position himself, poor cardio he cant make multiple runs in a short amount of time not defending much


to me putting griezmann or mbappe up front basicly have 1 rw and 1 at str and fekir right behind would've been way better for this game

and we saw the 2-3 times giroud got ahead but hes so slow he couldnt get in the right spot fast enough


even have fekir rw would've been better he played rw before


i'm almost positive if giroud was benched that game france would've won by a bigger margin


also meunier was so crucial for this game chadli was lol cant cross bad at defending hes an average player

They tried to play without Giroud, it was worse than what they offer actually.

it was the 1st game where they started fekir right cant remember


different teams and lineups giroud was prob better that game


but playing him all the time is prob not the best option

Deschamps is defensive minded

Fekir didn't start a game, or if he did it was the third against denmark. Worst game of the tournament.
