I think it's a nice idea over all, because the Confederation Cup and the CWC are boring and useless as fuck.
I don't like that the OFC isn't guaranteed a spot though. I mean, if right now they have to go through one round of qualification before they make it to the 6 teams that take part in the current CWC, why would they also need to go through qualification when the tournament is expanded to 24 teams? I know the clubs there are bad, but come on, let them at least have one spot. 4 to CONMEBOL is already fair enough imo. I'd also give one to the title holder, like in the CL.

1 The gap will only get bigger
2 Clubs need to think about a second squad with so many games
For these reasons it’s nonsense to me
It's not like it's more games. It would be the same as now with the Confederations Cup.

How will it replace the Confederations cup if one is a club cup and the other is a national cup.
Dont make sense. 🤔
They mean that there will be no more Confederations Cup, and they'll have this instead at the time where the Confederation's Cup would normally be scheduled (a year before the WC). Plus they want to remove the CWC altogether, making it in fact less games over all and removing the midseason trip to Japan or wherever the CWC is hosted.
Nobody cares about the Confederations Cup, and only 8 countries bother watching it, so it doesn't make much profit for FIFA, the host nation and the TV broadcasters... so this huge Club World Cup would be a much more interesting idea for them. I mean, if Madrid, Man Utd, Barcelona, etc go, it won't just be attracting viewers in Spain or England, but also in all of Asia and the Americas, where these clubs have millions of fans. So a shit ton more money.
