So, as most of you probably know, the FIFA is offered 25 billion € in exchange for the right of the FIFA Nations League as well as the FIFA Club World Championship.
German newspaper "BILD", which is usually a pretty solid source when it comes to anything sport-related, now says they got acccess to some documents explaining how the new club worldcup will be:

Quote
Mode:
- Starting at 2021, the cup will be played every four years.
- 24 teams instead of seven.
- Eight groups of three, winner of each group goes to k.o.-stages

Teams:
- 12 UEFA (CL finalists + EL winner of the last four years)
- 2 CAF (Africa)
- 2 AFC (Asia)
- 2 CONCACAF (North-/Centralamerica/Caribbean)
- 4,5 CONMEBOL (Southamerica)
- 0,5 OFC (Oceania)

Schedule:
- 18 days in six different stadiums
- 9 days for group stages, 9 days k.o.-stages
- maximum of three games per day
- minimum 48 hours rest between two games of one team

Opening event:
- 2021: June 10 to June 28
- Favoured host is China

Prizes:
- 8b € to the teams competeing (60m starting money, up to 150m for the winner)
- Up to 4b € as solidarity tax to all associations, leagues and clubs that are NOT competeing

The FIFA Club Worldcup would be replacing FIFA Confederations Cup.

What do you guys think?

1 The gap will only get bigger
2 Clubs need to think about a second squad with so many games

For these reasons it’s nonsense to me

How will it replace the Confederations cup if one is a club cup and the other is a national cup.

Dont make sense. 🤔

Indeed I doesn’t make sense, but that’s how the investors have it planned.
The term „replace“ is probably because it would take place always one year before the nations worldcup, just as confed cup does at the moment.

I think it's a nice idea over all, because the Confederation Cup and the CWC are boring and useless as fuck.

I don't like that the OFC isn't guaranteed a spot though. I mean, if right now they have to go through one round of qualification before they make it to the 6 teams that take part in the current CWC, why would they also need to go through qualification when the tournament is expanded to 24 teams? I know the clubs there are bad, but come on, let them at least have one spot. 4 to CONMEBOL is already fair enough imo. I'd also give one to the title holder, like in the CL.

It's not like it's more games. It would be the same as now with the Confederations Cup.

They mean that there will be no more Confederations Cup, and they'll have this instead at the time where the Confederation's Cup would normally be scheduled (a year before the WC). Plus they want to remove the CWC altogether, making it in fact less games over all and removing the midseason trip to Japan or wherever the CWC is hosted.

Nobody cares about the Confederations Cup, and only 8 countries bother watching it, so it doesn't make much profit for FIFA, the host nation and the TV broadcasters... so this huge Club World Cup would be a much more interesting idea for them. I mean, if Madrid, Man Utd, Barcelona, etc go, it won't just be attracting viewers in Spain or England, but also in all of Asia and the Americas, where these clubs have millions of fans. So a shit ton more money.
