Mixed feelings about this. The guy has managed with success Spain's U-XX teams, winning 2 Euros and reaching a WC final. That's good. It's also a good thing that he has worked with many of the players that are now in the senior squad.

But his Porto season was awful. The 3 times he has managed a club he has been sacked (He was sacked after 10 games with Rayo in Segunda, although in his defense the club ending up relegating to the third level after that; he was sacked from Castilla in the third level after missing the promotion playoffs; and he was sacked after two thirds of the Portuguese Liga this season when his team feel too far behind Benfica and Sporting.... although at list he did reach CL quarters).

Not sure what to think, but out of the realistic options, he isn't that bad I guess. Despite his club failures, he knows the players and had international experience (a successful one with the youngsters), and his spell at Porto is also experience at a demanding job (eve if it didn't work out well).

Overall, I feel relieved they didn't sign Caparrós, which the press reported was the most likely candidate. Best of luck, Julen!

Saw his CL form and was a good motivator and overall seemed to me a good choice.

I'll take it.

No Casillas is good since it's better to end the debate now, and I'm fine with Adrián going ahead of Sergio Rico. Reina is a questionable choice though, but I guess he's going to create a good atmosphere.

Good to see Saúl and Javi Martínez back, and Vitolo is another nice addition that deserved to be called (even if not regularly). Asensio seems a bit too rushed, but Isco is injured and I guess Lopetegui wants to introduce him to the team. In any case, I'm happy for my boy.

Also, finally no Fábregas B)

Sergi Roberto is probably the most questionable decision imo.

Atleast Costa is on it, and azpi should be starting now.

They all have a lot of competition, so leaving them out is justified... but Sergi Roberto over Bellerín is not.

With Aduriz and Torres being too old for this WC cycle, Diego COsta is going to get a new chance. He better not blow it again...

Yeah I'd understand Cazorla being out, Monreal debateable but Bellerin surely not.

imo it's ok to call Juanfran or Carvajal over Bellerín, although I'm personally not a fan of Juanfran.
