I'm young, have a job and I voted to stay. Irvine's stereotypes have no power in this thread. But seriously, what do you think the consequences might be in terms of football transfers and the attraction of the premier league?

Haven't read into it at all, but my guess would be: even more difficult for foreign players with almost no national caps to get a work permit, higher transfer prices for foreign players and also less pull power from big english clubs versus big european clubs.

Read somewhere that over night from the top 5 wealthiest english clubs, together their value decreased by 180m euros or so.

they had no "power" to begin with. they sounded much more like ego protection, like the good old "i troll you" excuse after people realise the fucked up - it also lets you conveniently avoid going into detail and giving your actual reasoning behind your decision...

that being said, i don't think it'll have a huge impact on the premier league's attraction. neither for players nor for fans. the money is still the best you can get which will continue to secures big names and overall excitment. the international fanbases are still the greatest (apart from real and barcelona obviously) which guarantees continued support so sponsors will always be interested...

I think every European in the Premier league will leave. Foreign owners will sell up at the earliest convenience. We'll go back to having a pure British playerbase which will improve the national games and we'll dominate the world cup (not the euros as we won't be invited again) for decades to come.

There will also be a plague of locust and London will declare itself independent and have it's own league.

The prem won't let idiots ruin it. If the premier league was only/limited to british players it would be fking terrible. Nobody would ever dribble.

I think it will have a small effect. The stock market valuation of premier league clubs has decreased a lot already. Even if they have the same amount of money to spend, there might be an indirect effect in that they will be more hesitant to spend big. Most importantly though, investors may rather buy clubs in Spain, Germany or Italy. But who fucking knows really...
