Some interesting statistics, but where did they get 291 goals and 201 games the last 4 seasons number from?

(following stats are for season years (summer-summer, not calender years)

2014: 44 goals / 48 games / 12 assists
2013 : 75 goals / 59 games / 18 assists
2012: 77 goals / 70 games / 27 assists
2011 51 goals / 55 games / 22 assists
total: 247 goals / 232 games / 79 assists

If you include the the 2009-2010 season (right before the WC 2010)

you get: 49 goals in 58 games which brings his last 5 year total to 296 goals / 90 assists in 290 matches, which is absolutely insane and no doubt the highest of the last 4-5 years, but still not 291 in 201 games, that's just ridiculous.

Edit: just re-read and they said goals AND assists. I see. Added in the assists. If they include every game he's played the last 4 years the totals would be 326 goals + assists combined in 232 games.

Edit²: I got bored and did CR7 too.

2014: 65 goals / 60 games / 15 assists
2013: 62 goals / 68 games / 14 assists
2012: 71 goals / 64 games / 16 assists
2011: 56 goals / 61 games / 16 assists
total: 254 goals / 253 games / 61 assists

Holy shit, not only are both of them way ahead of any one else but I didn't realize that CR7 was that close to Messi's statistics. despite similar statistic Messi went away with 3 Ballon D'ors and CR7 only 1 in the last 4 years.

This is Messis time to shine, he's in his prime right now and I think Argentina can win it all.

Messi is 27 years old and if I remember correctly strikers are in their prime age ~ 27 and midfielders age ~ 29.

Most strikers would be 26-31 Prime years, but we seen strikers be at their prime as young, then suck as elder.

Anyway this thread smells too much of Messi, we talked enough about that dwarf aswell as the prettyboy

Yeah it depends on the person. Too many people think your best years are 18-21 lol. Drogba is a prime example of a late bloomer, he was 26 and unproven when he came to Chelsea. In strength/powerlifting competitions athletes don't reach their peak until they're like 35.
