Why would anyone want Germany to win this game? (unless they are German)

I don't really care who wins tbh... but in the later stages of the tournament it's always more enjoyable to watch balaced games. Imagine Costa Rica or Algeria in semis, would be one of the worst semifinals ever.

Fifa match facts

Match facts for Germany – Algeria

Both of the sides’ previous engagements were won by Algeria. The first was a friendly in 1964 that ended 2-0
courtesy of goals from Khennane Mahi and Ahmed Oudjani. The second match, which finished 2-1 at the 1982
World Cup following goals by Rabah Madjer, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Lakhdar Belloumi, was the first
African victory over a European team in the competition’s history.

That 1982 triumph was Algeria’s only World Cup win against European opposition. Since then Les Fennecs have
mustered three draws and four defeats against UEFA teams.

That same result in 1982 was Germany’s only World Cup defeat at the hands of African opponents, against
whom Die Nationalelf have also collected four wins and two draws.

Germany enter this match on the back of seven consecutive Round of 16 victories from 1986 to 2010.

This is the 80th World Cup fixture pitting European and African teams against each other. UEFA representatives
have the better head-to-head record, with 40 wins, 22 draws and 16 defeats. The only missing result relates to
the Round of 16 duel between France and Nigeria that will be played just a few hours before this game.

i like this one: Germany enter this match on the back of seven consecutive Round of 16 victories from 1986 to 2010. :D

Kind of hoping for Germany to tear Algeria apart.
