Is it true that Cleverly deleted his twitter after receiving many hate comments from united fans, after he said he plays like the spanish team? :p
Apparently so.

Manchester United's Tom Cleverley has decided to shut down his Twitter account after continuing to receive abuse from fans.

The 24-year-old has struggled to endear himself to the Old Trafford faithful, with many fans targeting him for the Red Devils' shortcomings this season.

In a recent interview with our man Oliver Holt, the midfielder outlined his determination to prove his critics wrong, after being shown a series of tweets condemning his performances.

Cleverley said: "My job goes under the radar at times. I am not a player who’s going to beat three or four people and stick it in the top corner or go round tackling people like Roy Keane.

“I would like the fans on my side and it hurts a little bit when you have grown up at the club and love the club every bit as much as the supporters."

However, his confession did not stop the abuse from United's fans, as the England man was referred to as a "shame to modern day football", while some wanted him as far away from the starting line-up as possible.

In a sad turn of events, Cleverley decided to shut down his account today but that has not stopped the abuse.

Here are just some of the more tame negative posts aimed at the Manchester United midfielder.

He did himself no favours with that interview, even Chris Smalling created more chances this season than T-Clev.

It's good that fans finally realize they can't consider Cleverly as one for the future
