"Tottenham have moved a step closer to signing midfielder Christian Eriksen, with Ajax manager Frank de Boer confirming the deal was "as good as final".

The 21-year-old Denmark midfielder has been linked with a move to White Hart Lane during the transfer window.

The two sides are yet to seal the deal but De Boer insists the transfer will come to fruition.

"The only thing missing is the signature. The transfer of Eriksen to Tottenham is as good as final," he said.

Eriksen has scored 27 goals in 122 games for the Amsterdam club and was a major supply line for Ajax as they won the Eredivisie title last season."
