feel like moyes is trying to make us play like his old everton team and thats not the team's strength. fact that we have been ceding possession to teams like sunderland is sickening.

Doubtful he cares about this cup and its not like RvP Rooney Nani etc. were out there.

That team should've still dispatched Sunderland EASILY.

You simply don't deserve such a classy midfielder in this sinking ship there. Too bad with Mata you will actually have a little chance for top 4. But still 37m pounds is a good amount for a player who was on bench for this season and his form is unknown.

Sad that the team couldn't close over 90 mins.. should have scored a 2nd and put it away. Sad day, but this is football I guess. Hopefully Mata can help us qualify for the Europa League.

The transfer clearly shows how desperate things are at United, 6 points behind 4th place, 14 behind Arsenal, out of FA cup before end of January and losing COC semi to second worst team in the league all while playing truly awful to watch football. mainly threatening from set pieces and players not trusting their manager, can someone give me one reason why Moyes should stay after the end of the season regardless of 4th place finish?

Even being probably one of the people who dislike United the most i can give u 3 reasons imediately:

1. Ferguson have been on the verge of sacking at the beggining of his United career too - everybody knows what shit happened after they left him in charge.
2. Moyes have been picked for manager exactly by Ferguson with his words - Support your new manager.
3. Moyes didn't spent a single penny for players(yet).

Its more than obvious this will be empty season for United, they're rebuilding. And when they started this course with one manager it will be even bigger disaster if someone new start to rebuild again from now. Also do you know any free top manager now who may change Moyes? The target from now for this season is top 4 its simply as that. United really are 6pts behind the current 4th but everyone knows Everton has no bench, Liverpool counting only on Suarez, and Tottenham...well Tottenham are Tottenham. So the main target is still in reach.You can count it as Mata = most likely top 4 spot in May, otherwise 37m pounds vs about 25m pounds from the next year United participating in the Champ League.
