You could easily play both Kanté and Matuidi to do the defensive work for Pogba. France doesn't have a standout central attacking midfielder anyway, so you could probably use Pogba in that role.

Lacazette/Martial/Benzema (if he gets called)

France has a strong team and lots of possibilities going into EC. You see where they lack class though and unfortunately it's some of the most decisive positions on the pitch, as I don't see any current world-class wing backs for them.

Valbuena has been performing very well for France.
It's quite difficult, the coach will have to decide if he'd rather trust players without experience and performing well with their club or keeping the players that have been performing for France for the last 2 years




Martial will play on the wing imo,
Lacazette won't even be called imo and if he does, he won't get a game. Giroud and benzema are ahead of him

Valbuena oculd also be a candidate to play on the wing imo.
Martial as well, but only if Benzema gets called. If he doesn't and Lacazette continues to underperform, we'll see Martial playing as a striker. Giroud is simply not good enough to win championships.

Add to that the possiblities of Coman (who has to be called imo), Valbuena and other offensive players coming from the bench (+ very good backups in Laporte, Diarra etc. for the more defensive positions) and it seems like France could do really well.
But again, I can't see any Wing Backs being far above average on either side.

Schneiderlin is French and therefore a candidate as well, isn't he?

Lass was more than good enough for Madrid, it's just his shitty attitude that has held his carreer back.

He really is that good and should easily get a call up. No idea how we got him for so little. A complete steal.

This year he's basically almost as impressive as Verratti. Then again it's Ligue 1. But he's real proper good and he will be in the starting XI at EC, I can guarantee.
I would say Deschamps will call all the players that we have named, but none of them will be in the starting XI. Deschamps is a pussy and he'll stick with players that he knows well.
