well in the 2nd half you could clearly see a difference in quality. atletico was technically and physically superior and in firm control of the game.
that being said, psv made the best of it - they defended well and hardly allowed any big chances despite being one man down for more than 20 minutes...

Too bad Perreiro got a red card. Knowing Cocu he would have subbed in Lestienne and Jozefzoon. Two very very fast technical players to get into the space left by the attacking defenders.

All in all a very decent result at home against a recent champions league finalist imho

nah i agree, that decision was too harsh - that's not a yellow card. i can't even say it was particularly stupid to go into a challenge like that when you're already booked because it really wasn't that hard - just "good" acting from godín that made it look like it was...

The ref was inconcistant about "hard" plays. Incounted about 10 hand balls from atletico with at least two that were a clear obstruction.

PSV are the only team facing a Spanish opponent that didn't lose. Nice stat i think.

Barca had best first game result to think about overall going through me thinks
