Yeah I remember seeing that (on vid ofc since I wasn't born) the main thing with the squad was that they all knew eachother really well, there were only a few foreign players and most of them being danish (like Olssen, andersen etc) They deserved to win the title aswell but if I remember correctly, Standard won it that season with 1 point difference (I think)

Yeah, well that was the thing prior to Bosman, only 2 (and later 3) foreigners per team.

It's a bit of an outdated formula, but it would be cool if we could have a rule that enforeced the use of at least 4-6 players from the club's country on the pitch.

Well, I think in a league like Belgian's it's going to be hard to do that, we need foreign players to spice things up, but ofc having teams like Beveren before with 11 ivory coast players in the line up is to much ofc

Well, on the other hand, you'd be able to keep many more belgian players home. But yeah, it would be a matter of finding a balance to such a rule imo. Also, having countries with 4 CL spots doesn't help.
