They should. They have the strongest team (at least on paper), the highest budget and a manager that has promoted 3 other teams to Primera. There are still 32 games to go, so time should put us in the top spots if we keep progressing.

making it through a division with 22 teams....quite a challenge ^^

Yup, when I look at the belgian second division, I see so many teams that used to be regulars in the first division, but that can't get up there anymore.

Yeah, it sucks for the weaker teams because it's really hard to stay up there for such a long time. But now that we have a promotion play off they still have a chance to go up even if they end up being unable to keep up with the strongest teams for such a long time.

The fact we have 22 teams in Segunda is somewhat accidental (in the mid 90s Celta and Sevilla were relegated to the 3rd level for financial issues, so 2 teams took their place, but then they were forgiven and so the league expanded from 20 to 22 teams because it wouldn't be fair to relegate the teams that had been promoted to take their place). Ever since then it's an ongoing debate wether we should have 20 or 22 teams in Segunda but, considering it has been lke that for almost 20 years, I doubt they'll change it any time soon. I think 20 teams is enough really...
